Community is very important to everyone at College Group. We have a range of Corporate Social Responsibility projects and are involved in lots of aspects of community life.

Implanted as we are in rural communities, it’s a point of honour for us that many of our highly skilled employees live locally. We work tirelessly to reduce the impact of our facilities on the local surroundings – not only do we meet stringent regulatory standards, we have also implemented various initiatives to improve the quality of life of our employees and neighbours as well as enhance the natural environment.

Our Values

We have four core values which inform every single decision made at the company.

People

Our high-quality services would be impossible without our highly motivated people. Our team is always seeking to innovate, improve services, and safeguard the high standards that we hold ourselves to.

Environment

We are committed to conserving natural resources and protecting the environment. Through our continual investment in innovative systems, we are striving to maintain the lowest carbon footprint possible.

Quality

Our reputation is built on quality and this is something we strive for daily. Ensuring outstanding quality and excellence in all aspects of what we do is a cornerstone of our business, products, and service delivery.

Integrity

Caring for our people, local communities, and the planet is at our core and embedded into the DNA of College Group. We are honest, ethical, and fair because integrity underpins everything that we do.

CSR
Activities
At College Group

We have a range of CSR projects at College Group and are very involved in community life. Some of our initiatives are:

Education

Since 2017, we have awarded an annual further education bursary to support emerging talent in our community. The bursary is administered by Louth & Meath Education & Training Board and awarded to a leaving certificate student from O’Carolan College. An independent panel of retired educators selects a promising student to receive a fund of €16,000 towards their third-level education.

Previous recipients are Liam Mannion (studying Science – Mathematical, Physical and Geographical), Nicole Glass (studying Science), and Rachael Sheenan (studying to become a primary school teacher). We aim to provide more than just financial support as part of the bursary, which is why we were delighted to welcome Liam for a work experience placement at College Group.

Sport

Several of our employees are closely involved with local clubs, so supporting sports activities is a natural fit for us. We have a three-year sponsorship agreement with Kingscourt Harps AFC, a former FAI Soccer Club of the Year winner. We support the Moynalty team and are the main sponsor for Nobber GFC, which is also the team one of our engineer apprentices plays for. Whether in official roles such as team coach or committee member, or simply as enthusiastic spectators, we love encouraging our community’s sporting talent!

Village life

We regularly contribute to village life; for instance, with our five-year sponsorship of Christmas lights and decorations in Nobber village, and the iPads we donated to the Nobber Friendship Club to help combat isolation and improve access to online services and conveniences. We’re involved in a variety of events, such as Christmas concerts, Nobber Fair Day and a fundraising Strictly Come Dancing in aid of the GAA. We also helped the primary school with a drama stage. Initiatives like these are very important to the entire team.
