Nicole Glass from Sellar in Nobber and a star student of O’Carolan College’s Leaving Certificate class of 2018 was the centre of attention at a very pleasant gathering in the Headfort Arms Hotel, Kells.

2018 College Group Bursary

The occasion was hosted by College Group to formally present Nicole with the 2018 College Group Bursary and she was the very deserving and very happy recipient of the €16,000 funding spread over four years of her undergraduate studies.

Nicole was joined by her mum, Liz, for this celebration of her success and their generous hosts for the evening, representing the College Group, were CEO, John Gilroy, and our Human Resource Officer, Sarah McMahon. Joining them on the happy occasion in The Vanilla Pod Restaurant was Martin O’Brien, CEO Louth and Meath Education & Training Board, Cathal Rogers, and Helen Loftus, Principal and Deputy Principal of O’Carolan College as well as the College Group Bursary Selection Panel, represented by Richard Clarke, Tommy Healy, and Dan Toole.

Nicole is already enjoying the fruits of her achievements in NUIG. She is studying Science and has plunged into college life with enthusiasm. In addition to her academic adventure, she is revelling in what sports Lough Corrib and Galway Bay can provide and has just joined the university kayaking and surfing clubs to take full advantage of the aquatic adventures on offer.

We all wish her continued success and enjoyment in her NUIG experience.
